The first Pulsewave of spring brought out the regulars to party despite the chilly temperatures in Brooklyn. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Zen Albatross perform and nervous excitement filled the room as he began his set. As a personal fan of his moody tunes I enjoyed hearing his new work which incorporated samples from cassette tapes. Projections by NYC’s visual artist, Batsly Adams, bathed Zen Albatross in deep hues of purple, blue and green. Crown Height’s very own Note! took the stage with his incredibly fun beats which heated up the room in no time. Pulsewavers have a long standing tradition of loving a good dance party and Note knows how to get the crowd going. Binärpilot headlined the night. Originally from Norway, Binärpilot resides in Brooklyn and delighted us several times with this tunes. His wife, Rachael, joined him for a song on stage and at this point I was having too much fun and switched my lens to autofocus for the rest of the night. It was another great night at The LaunchPad and I’m looking forward to the next Pulsewave in April!
